Adrienne 2 years

When I asked Adrienne what kind of cake she wanted for her 2nd birthday she didn't skip a beat before responding excitedly "HOP-HOP!" - you know, frog.

In the weeks and days leading up to her birthday party she often reminded me that she was going to have a "hop-hop" cake. While I was making the cake she wanted me to lift her up countless times to see the progress. Her response was priceless EVERY time - eyes wide, mouth open, shaking with excitement and a long "OHHHHH".

She did a great job blowing out her candles and was quite impressed with herself. :)

When it came time to eat the cake she did her usual. She licked the frosting with her finger and let the cake sit.

We had a great time celebrating Adrienne's birthday with our family. Samantha and Samuel were the youngest guests at her party. My guess is at Adrienne's party next year these two will be a lot more trouble. :)

At two years old Adrienne ...

Is full of energy and runs everywhere she goes.

Looks up to her big sister "Goo" (from Miss Magoo - took us a while to figure this one out), wanting to do everything she does.

Adores her little sister "Mantha" giving her hundreds of kisses each day, bringing her toys and asking me often to do "patty cake" and "help me" (Building Up The Temple) to try to make her laugh.

Screams with excitement and runs to the back door every evening when Dave gets home from work.

Loves. Loves. LOVES candy! She asks for it after almost every meal, even breakfast. One day when I asked her what we should have for lunch her response was "CANDY!" And in case you are wondering her favorite is chocolate.

Always takes her socks off, while repeating "socks off, socks off Mommy (or Daddy)". In fact I don't put socks on her unless we are ready to put her shoes on and head out the door.

Has a way with people, making friends where ever we go.

Is not captivated by TV and is really great at bugging whoever is watching TV when they could be playing with her (Morgan, Grace, Benjo ...)

Is good at bugging and teasing in general. I'm going to give Dave and Grandpa Chupp credit for this.

Is totally potty trained and basically trained herself (at 20 months) when Samantha was born, a wonderful gift indeed

Loves running around without clothes on.

Loves going to her own Kindermusik class and usually chooses Daddy to go with her.

Is really Daddy's girl and loves running errands with him.

Needs to know where I am at all times during the day. If I leave the room without telling her she always notices almost immediately. Then she proceeds to YELL "MAMA?!?" while walking through out the house until she finds me.

Likes to pretend her sippy cup is a baby. She puts it in time out and puts it to bed. This is what she does to entertain herself when she is done eating and we haven't cleaned her up yet.

Made us wait a while before she started talking, but is now doing more then her share of it.

Was very excited about flying to see Grandma and Grandpa Rhodes in CO. She was telling everyone who looked in her general direction "Me fy! Airpane! Papa's house!"

Phrases we hear every day are:

"Me do it!"
"No Way!"
"Hi baby hi!"
"No potty. Went. Me."
"Me say hi." (when ever I'm on the phone)
"Me candy. Me candy Mama, peese!"
"Mommy hold you."
She also often says "ummm" followed by a long pause and a deep in thought kind of look, before answering our question.

Adrienne Grace is one crazy little girl.

We love you Adrienne!

Yankee Doodle

This week has been crazy.
The pukes worked its way through our whole family. Adrienne was the first victim on Monday and it hit me Thursday in the middle of the night. Everyone else had their turn some time in between. I haven't had enough energy or time to do Adrienne's 2 year post so I decided to share this for now.
In order to get the full effect of this post you need to sing Yankee Doodle as you scroll down.
I was upstairs giving Samantha a bath this morning when I heard Yankee Doodle and lots of giggles.
When I got downstairs this is what I found.
Are you singing?

Adreinne giving us her best whinny.

After a week like ours we needed some good old horsing around.
I know ... I'm so sorry.
Fun. We needed some fun.

Darcy came over this past weekend to take Adrienne's 2 year pictures.
Here is what she she was able to capture ...
